Therefore, using these traits, one can safely judge who a bad or good student is. The student is a very important component of the society. However, it is important to also mention that such respect and reverence is not the same as fear. A good teacher will evoke respect from the student and not fear. That is clearly, not the case. It is all about balancing your activities, both academic and extracurricular. In fact, that is the hallmark of the complete student. It is not only about books but also going out for recreation once in a while.

Challenges of Being a Student

Although it is quite obvious that life itself can be very challenging, it is very interesting to realize that certain stages of life are more challenging than others. Without doubt, being a student can be a very challenging thing especially when you are studying under conditions that are not too conducive. For millions of students that are in the various developing countries of the world, schooling can be hell as there are no adequate teaching and learning facilities in most of the so-called schools.

Apart from the dismal educational facilities in some of these institutions, there are so many other obstacles militating against the student. One is the exorbitant amount of tuition fees that some schools demand. This is not the problem of developing nations only; the developed nations are also affected. One good illustration is the recent riots in the United Kingdom over tuition fees. For students in their millions, money to pay the fees, buy books and take care of general expenses may not be that easy to come by. For those that do not have rich and affluent parents, they have to work to earn an income that will support them through school.

Apart from the financial challenges, a student also has academic worries to contend with. The fact is we do not all learn at the same rate and so, some students find it very difficult to assimilate what they have been taught in various conventional educational institutions. For such students, there is constant worry and anxiety over perpetually poor grades.

Also, in some other countries where crime is a big problem, students may be targeted by violent criminals or caught in a crossfire. In fact, in some countries, students are routinely kidnapped for ransom by evil-minded elements of the society. These security challenges are some of the many that a student has to contend with.

Many students feel overwhelmed by school. There is an abundance of information coming to a pupil on a daily basis. They have pressure from parents and teachers to do well on standardized tests for college and for the school’s funding. They are swamped with homework, extracirricular activities, and trying to maintain an average social life. The struggles kids have with school are plentiful. But nothing get easier for them if they are struggling in a particular area.

If there is one area of school that all students seem to dread, it’s doing research papers. Research papers are difficult for students to do because they get so little practice writing at school these days that when it comes to having to do something as technical as writing a research paper, they can find themselves pulling their hair out. But it doesn’t have to be that hard if a student takes advantage of the resources available to them.

Most parents hear the complaining from the child about a teacher’s assignment but few kids admit to their parents that the teacher has offered extra help. Many teachers will allow students to turn in the paper early so they can have it corrected. This is a huge help to a student who is worried about getting a bad mark on the paper. Many students choose to pass on this and instead suffer the risk of a bad grade due to poor formatting.

Students should also take advantage of the Internet resources available to them. In a world where students can get detailed information on apartments for rent in Atlanta, it would only make sense that they use the resources online to help them. Writing a paper can be quite the headache for the student, but it doesn’t have to be that way at all.

Education Matters in Today’s Society

People have been known to say that education really isn’t that important, but that’s simply not true. There have certainly been cases of people with little education making it big, but it’s not common. It’s the exception to the rule, and that’s why it makes the news when it happens. If everyone was doing it, there would be no need to mention it. However, when some people see these kinds of stories on the news or online, they assume that they can do the same thing. They waste their whole life trying to get rich quick, and they never get the education that could have given them a more comfortable life.

Some jobs require a lot more education than others, and it all comes down to what you want to do with your life. You’re the only person who really knows what you want to do as you get older, or whether you want to change careers because you’re not happy where you are. Don’t let other people talk you into doing something that you don’t enjoy just because they do it, or because it pays well, or because it’ll bring you prestige. You’re the only one you have to answer to when it comes to your career choice, so it’s a choice that you should be making.

If you’re not sure what you want to do with your life, going to school and getting an education is still the best choice. You can go for a while without declaring a major, and by then you might have a better idea of the direction you want your life to take. You can also switch majors, so don’t feel as though you’re completely trapped once you make that choice. There are always options, but a good education will generally take you farther in life, no matter what you want to do.
